MANCHETES ESA VIA AFP EM DETALHES A Ilha de Kharg é o principal centro de exportação de petróleo do Irã.  Teerã ameaçou "destruir e reduzir a cinzas" a infraestrutura de energia e petróleo dos EUA na região após os ataques americanos à ilha estratégica na sexta-feira. Até os ataques dos EUA à ilha de Kharg na sexta-feira, 13 de março , o importante centro de exportação de petróleo havia permanecido um alvo intocado e inacessível no conflito do Oriente Médio. A ilha, de alta estrategicamente importante e principal terminal de exportação de petróleo bruto do Irã, havia sido poupada dos ataques aéreos israelenses e americanos desde o início destes, em 28 de fevereiro.
