Os aplausos ouvidos em Teerã assim que a morte de Ali Khamenei, líder supremo da República Islâmica desde 1989 , foi anunciada no sábado, 28 de fevereiro, serviram como seu epitáfio. Seu assassinato durante a primeira onda de bombardeios EUA-Israel confirmou que o objetivo de Donald Trump e Benjamin Netanyahu é a mudança de regime no Irã. OPINION EDITORIAL Trump's war of choice in Iran With a massive attack that wasn't in response to any immediate threat, the US president and the Israeli prime minister aim to bring about the collapse of the Iranian regime. Yet its fall could usher in a period of great instability in the country. The cheers heard in Tehran as soon as the death of Ali Khamenei, supreme leader of the Islamic Republic since 1989, was announced on Saturday, February 28, served as his epitaph. His assassination during the first wave of US-Israeli bombings confirmed that Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu's goal is regime change in Iran. In fact, this massive attack was not a response to any emergency. Contrary to what Trump claimed in his speech accompanying the first strikes, there were no "imminent threats" to "the American people" to justify it.
